Stuck, overwhelmed or procrastinating?
Struggling to study in France even though you know you’re capable?
Counselling provides a confidential space to reflect and move forward.

Does this sound familiar?

Living abroad can be enriching, but it also brings a unique set of emotional challenges. You might be:
  • Weighed down by academic pressure or the pursuit of perfection
  • Putting off work even when you know it matters
  • Sitting down to study and avoiding it without understanding why
  • Feeling anxious, blocked, or overwhelmed when you try to focus
  • Underperforming despite knowing you’re capable
  • Stuck in cycles of avoidance, guilt and last-minute panic
  • Overthinking or aiming for perfection, then getting nowhere
  • Starting to wonder:“Why can’t I just do this?”

These struggles are rarely simply a problem of motivation or discipline. Often, something less obvious is getting in the way — patterns of anxiety, pressure or self-doubt that make it difficult to engage, even when you want to. Many expats in France find themselves grappling with cultural adjustment, language barriers, loneliness or a loss of familiar support networks.

Counselling in English for students: this is what I do

I offer a private, confidential online space to help you understand what’s getting in the way of your studies — whether it's anxiety, pressure, self-doubt or something less obvious — and to begin shifting those patterns so you can engage with your work more consistently.

In other words, my work often focuses on focus on the emotional and psychological barriers that interfere with learning.

If this resonates with you and you would like to arrange an initial session or to ask a question about counselling, you are welcome to get in touch by email. I aim to respond within two working days at the most.

Language

Sessions are conducted in English. For clients who move between English and French, bilingual sessions are possible, allowing you to speak in the language that feels most natural in the moment.

Location

I am based in the south of France and work with clients across France and internationally. Sessions take place online, allowing you to access therapy from wherever you are based.

This can be particularly helpful if you move between locations, have a changing schedule, or prefer the privacy of working from home.
